William Fischer, M.D.
Dr.Fischer graduated from the Chicago Medical School andcompleted his residency in Radiology at the Veteran's Hospital in N.Y.C.Fellowship in Pediatric Radiology was at the New England Medical Center Floating Hospital for Infants and Children.Subspecialty Boards in Pediatric Radiology(CAQ) were also obtained. Dr. Fischer is Clinical Associate Professor of Radiology and has special interest in Neonatology and Pediatric G.I. disease.

Gale, Brian, M.D.
Assistant Clinical Professor of Radiology
is the Director of Information. Dr. Gale functions as the medical director of ultrasound at University Hospital of Brooklyn. Dr. Gale is MQSA certified in mammography.

Dr. Gale obtained IRB approval for work in Sentinel Lymph Node scintigraphy in breast cancer. He participates in a multi center study of tailored CT in the diagnosis of hematuria. Dr. Gale has authored several recent publications.

Steven Ostrow, M.D.
Assistant Clinical Professor of Radiology
is a magna cum laude graduate of Brown University (BA) and Columbia University (MD). Dr. Ostrow was appointed Director of Undergraduate Education within the Department of Radiology after completing his residency at Downstate and obtaining ABR certification in radiology. An excellent educator in the tradition of Dr. Lucy Squire, Dr. Ostrow was named "Outstanding Educator of the Year" by the 1988 graduating class. In 2000, he was awarded faculty memberships in Apha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. In 2001, he was named "Teacher of the Year" by the class of 2003. Dr. Ostrow also has special training in Ultrasonography and is actively involved in this clinical service.

Dr. Arnold Strashun
Professor of Clinical Radiology
Dr. Arnold Strashun, Director of Nuclear Medicine at Kings County Hospital and University Hospital since 1987, was appointed Radiology Residency Program Director in November 2000. Dr. Strashun also directs Radiology Research for the department, as well as the Radiology Quality Assurance program.

Born in Houston, Texas, he attended University of Texas (BA '70), Baylor College of Medicine (M.D. '74), trained in Internal Medicine (ABIM '77), and Nuclear Medicine (Mt. Sinai, NYC, ABNM '79). His contributions include numerous scientific papers in nuclear cardiology and the neurosciences. He has served as Chairman of SUNY Downstate Centerwide Committee of the Faculty, President of the New York Academy of Medicine Nuclear Medicine Section, and is currently a Trustee of the Society of Nuclear Medicine. He serves as Chairman of Education and Training for the Society of Nuclear Medicine and is a member of the Executive Editorial Board of the Journal of Nuclear Medicine. He was again recognized by New York Magazine in 2001 as one of NYC's Best Physicians

Dr. Zinn is the director of the division of Womens and Childrens Imaging and is section chief of Ultrasound. His area of clinical expertise is CT, US, MR.

Dr.Harry Zinn
Assistant Professor of Radiology
Dr.Harry Zinn is Assistant Professor of Radiology and Chairman of the Radiology Manpower Committee.He attended University of Pennsylvania Medical School and completed his radiology training at SUNY Downstate.His clinical focus is on Body Imaging(CT and MRI) and his academic focus is on GU radiology.He is married with four children and resides in Long Island.
