Prenatal Care Assistance Program Now Available At Suny Downstate Medical Center

Pregnant women and teens can now receive pregnancy care via the state-funded Prenatal Care Assistance Program (PCAP) at University Hospital of Brooklyn at SUNY Downstate Medical Center.

Under PCAP, routine pregnancy check-ups are covered along with testing and counseling. Medical care up to eight weeks after pregnancy is free under PCAP as well as health care for newborns up until one year of age. Access to other programs such as WIC and Child/Family Health Plus are also attainable through the prenatal program.
PCAP is based on financial needs. Immigrants are also eligible for coverage. For additional information contact Rita Scott at 718-270-1031.

SUNY Downstate Medical Center is the only academic medical center in Brooklyn, serving more than 2 million people within the borough. SUNY Downstate is located at 450 Clarkson Avenue.
