Tuition
Students should consult the SUNY Downstate Student Handbook for general details regarding tuition and fees. Specific information regarding tuition and fees for the MPH Program is delineated below. Additional information can be obtained by contacting the SUNY Downstate Office of Admissions.
Concurrent degree students please note: Because you are enrolled in two separate programs (medicine and MPH, MSN and MPH, and others) you must pay the tuition for each program.
Tuition MPH Program: Part-time Students
Students taking less than a full-time schedule (less than 12 credit hours) per semester will be considered part-time students and billed at the student rate of $288.00 per credit resident and $455.00 per credit nonresident. As part-time students, they will be ineligible for TAP, but may be eligible for other forms of aid depending on the credit load.
Student Fees
All fees are based on full-time student status. Part-time student fees are pro-rated.
MPH Program Student Activities Fee is $45.00 per semester.
College Fee is $12.50 per semester.
Health Service fee is $50 per semester.
Technology fee is $95-110 per semester.
Health Insurance: Full time students (9 credits or more) and students engaged in clinical coursework are required to purchase school sponsored health insurance unless comparable coverage is claimed. The annual cost for basic insurance in 2006-2007 for basic insurance is $2844.
The above COSTS reflect rates for the 2007-2008 academic year and are subject to change.
Part-time students are charged in accordance with the number of credits carried.
